Firefox just updated their TOS to let us know they will sell all our browsing history with advertisers. If this isn't the final nail in the coffin I don't know what else is.

If a fediverse post contains something that the receiving server doesn't support, we need a defined way to show that to the receiving user. For example if I make a pixelfed post with 6 photos and mastodon only shows 4 of them, there needs to be a way to signal to the receiving side that there is content they can't see. This has been an issue forever but one of those little edges that makes the whole experience worse for everyone. cc @andypiper@macaw.social any ideas for how we could make progress on this?

Hey lovely fediverse friends, as many of you might know, I help run some fediverse instances and I am currently paying way way too much money out of my own pocket because mastodon and mastohost have an awful habit of caching way too much and not giving good user accessible tools to prune away unneeded cruft. I could really use some community help supporting the instances I am currently paying for. Already in the process of figuring out how to move to a new server this month...

The fediverse is anti-capitalist. The fediverse is anarchist praxis. The fediverse is not a protocol. The fediverse caries an ideology of communal care and mutual aid for our fellow humans. The fediverse should never be neutral on ideology. The tools we are building provide infrastructure for communication but they also shape that communication.
I think this is the first cooperative grocery store I've seen posting on the fediverse, which is pretty cool.

interesting read in defense of Nostr's architecture. really seems like there is a renewed battle between ATproto, ActivityPub and Nostr lately
there is a vibe coded "fediverse" LinkedIn clone called https://nolto.social prompted by @JTensetti@mastodon.nu and it already has quite a few people trying it out.
There are also a good amount of people opening issues on codeberg cause it advertises lots of features that are "hallucinated" on the front page like that its "Compatible with: Mastodon, Pleroma, Pixelfed, PeerTube, Lemmy, Misskey + 5,000 more" and "End-to-End Encrypted"
On February 3rd (very soon!) I am hosting another [BERLIN FEDERATED NETWORK EXPLORATION CIRCLE] at @offline@autonomous.zone. It's a chance to meet and talk with people who are interested in the #fediverse & networking & exploration & circ---you get the idea.
